Who's Who

History of Mint Tulip's Garden Tea Party

This is just a brief history of this website and my love for SS.

In the summer of 1995 I was home from college and was cleaning out the attic (Actually it was not my choice but you get the idea!)  When I was cleaning the attic I found all of my dolls from when I was a little girl. There were around 20 dolls total. There were also some of the accessories like the snail cart and Flitterbit. I kind of reminisced and put them back in my room on display. I had no intention of collecting them at this point. A few days later my mom and I were in a Thrift Store and I was looking through the toys and spotted a bag of dolls. I showed my mom and she said we should get it because they were totally clothed and had their pets. We kept looking and found two more bags of dolls. I ended up with another 20 or so dolls that day. My collection of dolls was growing.

Several weeks later when I was back in school and supposed to be studying I decided to see if my dolls were worth anything. My father had just introduced me to Ebay and I was buying junk. (Like toe rings and costume jewelry). I typed in Strawberry Shortcake and WHAM I got hit with a tone of stuff. I almost fainted when I found out how much my Plum Puddin doll was worth. I also found out that I had the Berry Princess!!! (I didn't even know she was a Strawberry Shortcake. I think it was the last doll I got and buy that time I was getting a little old for dolls.) I had been given all of the regular issue dolls when I was a kid and still had them all. I also still had all the international dolls except one. That one doll was Mint Tulip. I immediately changed my Ebay id to mintulip and started exclusively biding on Strawberry Shortcake items. My ID is now Mintberrykin.

At the same time that I was learning about the Strawberry Shortcake items I created this website just for fun. Looking back on it there were so many errors. (Fortunately I know a lot more about the dolls now and have corrected them all! LOL) As I have learned more about the dolls and about programming in HTML I have updated this site. This update in January of 2001 is the largest update to date. The site was down for half a year because of the amount of work I put into this site.  I hope everyone reading this has enjoyed my site and I hope that you will visit frequently!
